My husband's grandmother was Azelia
CAULKINS EASTERBROOK FORTNER CHENEY. She died of Huntington's in 1993.
She was born in Steuben County, New York. I think her parents were Mary
FORD (or possibly
HOWARD) and Archie CAULKINS. although I believe she was raised by John CAULKINS
(Archie's brother) and Lillian HOWARD CAULKINS (Mary's mother- whose maiden name I
believe to be FORD). It is unclear as to whether Archie and Mary were married (since
he was technically her step uncle). I am not sure if the disease came from her mother
or father's side of the family, but of Azelia's 6 children, it is known that 4 have the
disease and are currently battling it. I thirst to know more...
